Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using PAUS ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms are between you and Sakib Jafri ("PAUS," "we," "us").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use PAUS. By using the App, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. Not a medical service

PAUS is a self-help and wellness tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Content generated within the App, including explanations of physical sensations, pattern insights, and personalized reflections, is for informational and supportive purposes only and should never be treated as a substitute for professional medical or mental health advice.

Nothing in the App establishes a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, a mental health crisis, or thoughts of self-harm, stop using the App and contact emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately. 4. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information where the App requests it, such as during onboarding.

5. Subscriptions and billing

  • PAUS offers subscription plans, currently a Weekly plan and an Annual plan, with pricing displayed in the App at the time of purchase and subject to change with notice.
  • The Annual plan includes a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal, through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
  • Refunds are handled according to Apple's or Google's respective refund policies, since purchases are processed through their platforms, not directly by us.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will be notified before any change takes effect for their next billing cycle.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the App's source code or underlying models beyond what applicable law permits.
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription or payment mechanisms.
  • Use automated means to access or interact with the App outside of normal use.
  • Misuse AI-generated features to produce harmful, abusive, or illegal content.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the personal content you create in the App, including journal entries, letters, and photos. By using features that send content to third-party services for processing, such as AI-generated reflections, you grant us the limited right to transmit that content to those providers solely to deliver the feature, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the content you create and share within the App.

8. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, text, features, and underlying technology, excluding your own personal content, is owned by Sakib Jafri and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without permission.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any biometric reading, such as heart rate estimates, or AI-generated content will be accurate for your specific situation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PAUS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date, and for material changes, provide notice within the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
